Famous for its iconic windmills and picturesque white alleys that bustle day and night, Mykonos Town, known locally as Chora, is a must-visit destination in Greece. This charming small city captures the lively essence of the Cyclades perfectly! I love wandering through its narrow streets lined with quaint boutiques, boho-chic restaurants, and vibrant bougainvillea. Today, I invite you to discover Mykonos through my eyes, hoping to inspire you to explore this fascinating little town for yourself!

Every great morning walk starts with a freddo espresso, so my first stop is at SiaMo, a cozy café where you can grab a coffee to go.
Exploring Mykonos doesn’t require a specific route, just wander through its streets as you wish! Here are a few iconic spots you shouldn’t miss:
- Little Venice (Alefkandra)
- The old windmills
- Panagia Paraportiani church
I begin my walk around SiaMo, strolling down Kalogera Street with its lovely pink laurels. At the end of the street, I meet a new furry friend, comfortably lounging in the shade of a shoe store.
Next, I head to Simple art gallery, one of many galleries in the city featuring intriguing works from around the world. Another gallery I enjoyed is Minima.
Besides charming boutiques and concept stores, Mykonos also boasts numerous luxury shops. I love how they seamlessly blend with the local architecture!
I then make my way to Little Venice and its unique waterfront, where you can enjoy lunch or a drink while taking in the view of the old windmills. The atmosphere here is always lively! It’s one of the best spots in Mykonos to watch the sunset.
Mykonos is dotted with beautiful churches, and my next stop is Panagia Paraportiani. This church stands out with its unique architecture. Made up of five small churches with rounded shapes and whitewashed walls, it sits on a rocky outcrop by the sea, offering stunning views of the surroundings. It’s also a great spot for watching the sunset!
Continuing my stroll, I head back into the city to visit a favorite souvenir shop of mine, Anapolo, which offers unique items created by Greek designers. Then, I stop by Ilot on Manto Square, a shop that sells exclusively Greek beauty products.
Experience Mykonos!
I end my walk with a delicious slice of watermelon and one last adorable encounter before enjoying an excellent gyro at Leonidas and finally heading to the beach. See you by the sea! ☺️
